WE HAVE THE TOUGHEST AIRCRAFT TUG SO NER…

Apart from our 1960 Reliance tug (fitted with a backwards installed Triumph Vitesse Engine) which arrived in Argentinian markings a few years ago known as ROSIE, we also have a large Douglas Aircraft Tractor (JIM, Naturally) but we have now upped the ante as one of the guys has just acquired a 1944 German Kettenkraftkrad motorcycle half track for restoration…

surely we have the ‘ardest tug on the block now? :diablo:

If anyone has a lead on any spares… 😉

TT

BTW….Stormbird…you know what they were used to pull dont you…. 😎

Ya seen the tug used by RareBear at Reno? it has a former Top Fuel V8 engine…. Only tug I’ve seen with a drag chute… :dev2:

the front wheel is next to useless but is a complicated structure

steers by differential brakes

2 or 3 years down the line it will be done and ready to tow a 262 at legends

i cant wait to see Phil on tracks lol 😀
If memory serves the front wheel could even be raised and the kettenkrad worked as a normal track vehicle, but I’m not 100% sure about it…

Anyway, fancy some spares swap with mine? 😀

Cheers!

it has differential braking i think – we were trying to work out why it has a front wheel at all!

Will get Phil on the case and he can give you the tech specs – I can tell you that it weighs 1.25 metric tons and can pull 11.5!

Just how effective is the steering on those things? do they have differential on the tracks as well as the steering front wheel, or is it all a bit of a lottery?

Not sure about tearing – Phil is sure to post some pix to show off his new baby, well before he has another new baby anyway…!
