Depends what you class as a VERY big connection, my connection with them is that my late father flew the A/C in question for the films in Ireland. As did he fly the other film replica’s that were used at that time ie the DVII’s, DR1’s and SE5’s.
He was kiled in 1970 whilst flying one of the full size SE5’s for the film Von Richtofen And Brown. Its funny, after all these years how the interest in these A/C seems to big at a high at the moment. I agree with you, they have done a fiantastic job with the “RUBBER” DIII, been trying to find out what happened to the DVII’s, one is on rebuild with the Stampe museum in Antwerp, but as for the other 2 ?

D’you know, the amount of times I’ve watched The Blue Max, I’ve never noticed their rudders being different! :rolleyes:

Thinking about it, I’ve not watched the DVD version much since I bought it, and as my old video version was “pan and scan”, it probably never showed up. Will have to give the DVD a thorough viewing at some point.

Note, Tail larger, wing space between both wing’s smaller, fusalage a bit longer.

I have found NO ref to it on the Net, as yet! :confused:

It appear’s to be in the SAME Camo, as used in the Blue Max 😎 .

BUT I have not found ANY image’s on the NET of her in that Camo, from around that time, of the Panama release, been at it 2 day’s, no luck!!.

SO I am not sure when the film of the Aircraft was taken, MAY be old file stuff used, for the Panama Vid clip!! :confused:

What first 15 twenty year’s ago, memory’s not quiet firing that well, but I am still able to drag some out, as really it’s all still there, but the access system for the Hard drive’s a bit nackered!! 😮

The Vid Clip start’s like this,
You hear a really WW1 sounding plane,

First off,
Then you are stationed, way up in the Blue sky, then you see an Aircraft, sort of comming straight at you to start with.

A very German looking biplane of course, then it quickly doe’s a peeling pass right by you and GONE off the screen,

THEN you have old sock’s in his jock’s Leroth goe right across the Stage, Obove by trapeze, THEN the song kick’s right off, BUT you can tell it’s ALL studio sound track, as I have THAT album.

Has a real looking too me, WW1 engine up front, I’d swear it’s one of those Tiger’s that got made to look very German, Black engine, Loz paint job type, Real Max material.

Will sit down later with the pause, and try and match it with any I have seem in my C.W.D.’s, IT DOE’S , now in 05, look very familiar to me!

Not sure but the flash of the tail going by said tigerish to me, but will still have a closer look, But it’s quiet short the plane bit, and doe’s not go long!!!!.

Will also now attempt, to track this down ON THE NET!!! 😮 .

Be my guest, anyone else interested, as I am very curious to know which one it is!

yeah they used a full display for the song dreams and had the synchro doing their stuff when eddie was doing his solo. ROCKIN!

Only VH ‘Panama’ video I have seen is the ‘on stage’ one which didn’t show an aircraft ….they did use some nice ‘Blue Angel’ A-4 Scooter film for one of the ‘5150’ clips.
