Anyone here who is a fan of an obscure aircraft called the ‘Spitfire’ might be interested in this announcement of a long awaited book from Air Britain:
GIFTS OF WAR – Spitfires and other Presentation Aircraft in Two World Wars
I am a member of Air Britain, and was emailed about this today… But I know this may be of interest to others….
BTW If anyone was wondering what ‘As previewed in the Daily Telegraph’ means….

Did quite a bit of research for this at Kew a few years back, and helped with info re 131 (County of Kent) Sqn whose Spitfires were all presented by the county, including ‘BEXLEY’ AD554/NX-Q, presented by the borough where I live. Must get in touch with ‘en re the free copy I was promised!

Even I, highly trained in the art of newspaper disambiguation, admit to being stumped by that.

Interesting.
From the original article: Glad to see the Torygraph have discovered another mark of Spitfire:
The fastest version built was the XISZ, a reconnaissance model, which had a speed of almost 460 mph.
