There is plenty of activity in Australia with saving and preserving Heron’s.
Are the any recent photographs of the various derelict and disused Doves
in Australia? It would be interesting to see if a Dove -Drover-Heron line up
could be done at a museum .

Come to think of it.
It was a Long time ago, and I sat inside it with my Stepson Daniel(only about 5/6 at the time, Now 23, and I was surprised to see it was a Viscount I think!!
As it was quiet large, but it did seem in not bad nic, set up with sound’s and stuff as a kid’s ride sort of.
Think I went back later, and another plane was added.
Maybe all gone by now, I have no idea.

I seen one out the back of Crabtree Aviation,
Essendon Drome about a year or so back.
pretty poor condition by the look’s of it, think it was a Dove, and it did still have it’s G reg, BUT I had no pen or pencil or paper, and forgot it by the time I got home..
When I went back 2 week’s later, It was Gone, hopefully in to the work shop, but I am unsure what happened to it?.
Interesting Aircraft, I seen a few different DH type’s, up at the Drome as a teen.
Ciao!!
Is the Wobbie’s world plane or plane’s still there!!!!

Sad to report the Tyabb pair were scrapped in Feb 2001.
There is VH-ABM that has been parked minus an engine for many years at Moorabbin Airport
There is also Riley Dove VH-NBM that has been parked minus an engine for many years at Wallan Airport
The Queensland Air Museum has VH-MAL
In October 2004 I saw what I believe was VH-DHI in storage at Redcliffe Airport Qld.

Here is a pic of a couple of derelict Riley Doves taken at Tyabb on 31/03/99. Not sure whether they are of interest or not. Nearest camera is N673R and behind is N808RH.

Queensland Air Museum (for one) has examples of all three. Not lined up, nor all restored, but what they have got to is very impressive.see here
