Thought I would share a few photo’s with you from my visit to the carrier USS Intrepid, New York, on 10th September.

A few from inside.
Unfortunately there is a bit of wasted space inside where they could put one or more of the rarer types, but I believe they have other aircraft that they rotate with those on show, as a photo on one of the displays that was taken about 10 years ago has quite a few aircraft on the deck that are no longer there, with the current ones in their place.
As I found with quite a few of the museums in the USA, although the aircraft on display are excellent, as are the museums, they tend to be a bit dark, making photographing difficult. (My apologies for a couple of these being a touch fuzzy).

Nice to see a Scimitar – in my opinion the next most shapely jet aircraft to a Hunter.

I must admit I always felt a bit sorry for the airframes on Intrepid – thinking the sea air must do them no good at all – but they look immaculate…any inside pix?
