View from the Tank bank, Duxford

If you go along the fence a hundred yards or so past the AAM at Duxford there is a mound on your right popularly called “the tank bank” with a wooden fence on top, in front of which (hanging over the taxiway fence) are usually some Forum members with “drainpipe” lenses on their cameras.
This is a view with my “box brownie” Minolta Dimage A1 over their heads – taken on the dripping wet BoB display this year.

I’ll be there. Last years was wonderfull, but even so I was unable to convince any non-forum friends to come along this time.

Last year I was stationed infront of the AAM and had an *almost* great view fo the planes taxying past, but was obstructed by several rows of heads. Any ideas on what time you think I should arrive to get a front row view?

Failing that, I assume the ‘tank bank’ is a bank outside the tank museum? :p Do you allow in people with Box Brownies?

Was at DX today, to witness Mr Goldspink getting his checkride in TFC’s Corsair and a few spitfire pilots having a play too. The Cassutt Racer pair looked great, with the young Mr Grace working hard on his formation stuff.

It’ll be a great show, weather’s forecast to be kind… can’t wait!

Maybe see you in Cambs on Saturday night GDH A few of us will be in the Pickerel from 7 onwards, if i see you i’ll buy you a Birthday pint! Lookout for the ‘Moose’ jacket

Really wanna go but I’m having some serious birthday drinks and a curry in Cambridge Saturday night so it could be doubtful!

Errr, me as well, according to the delectable Julie, the weather will be perfick, warm sunny and a few clouds for contrast, just like they predicted for September 15th, I’m dying to try out the new collapsible chair I bought out of frustration during the last ‘show’, so look out for the saddo on the tank bank tangled up in canvas, well it was only £6:99.
