Apologies if this has been posted before – seems relatively 😮 affordable for such a rare aeroplane…. 😎

That’s what you’d call a data plate restoration with benefits. 😀

….helluvaway to treat a Firefly
Indeed, new to me as well.
I always thought that was a ‘proper’ conversion. Didn’t realise it had be ‘Diemart-ised’ 😮

Did you never see the film about the restoration of this aircraft (amongst others). It might put you off! Its cheap, as it needs a LOT of work!
Not the one that idiot built in Canada & then couldn’t get it out of the barn because the door was too narrow?

Is this the one in “the Defender” film?
By: TEXANTOMCAT - 12th October 2005 at 13:29
regrettably the fuselage/bodywork of our EoTS Zero /T-6 was full of P-38 – the filler, not the fork tailed devil…. they made an excellent job though, rudder extension, twin gun fairings forward of the windscreen, extensively modded turtle deck, well they turned the rear curved end canopy upside down and faired it in – but the detailling in the cockpit was fantastic right down to the handpainted Japanese lettering on the instrument panels….

There’s something about the Zero that I like – I just can’t put my finger on it.
Even if it’s a “Tora!” Zero!
Would love to see one in the UK someday.
By: TEXANTOMCAT - 12th October 2005 at 13:10
Well we’ve converted a T-6 back from a ‘Zero’ so am sure we could do it the other way round!
BTW cheers Daz will take a peek

Ben, I’m sure you can ‘do’ a converted T-6 for half the price!
By: DazDaMan - 12th October 2005 at 13:06
There’s a big thread on this over on WIX, with quite a bit about the Diemert film.
