“Something or other Monthly” in an article about certain North Weald based aircraft makes reference to the restoration of a Spit IX with a Russian provenance.
Is this ex TFC (iirc RK xxx) or an additional recovery?
In the same article, theres also reference to changing undercarriage units for use on paved runways – would this modification require bulges in the upper wing?
also shows piccy of TFC P-40B – which they hope to have flying in 8 months from now….

IIRC,the aviation mags a few years ago published pics of a seriously mangled Soviet Spitfire IX,reported to have spun into the ground inverted. It was reported that it was going to be restored to flight using a ‘patented metal straightening process’! Was this PT879?
