Blackburn Firebrand at Benson??????

Hi chaps/chappesses
During the mid/late ’50s Benson was home to two squadrons of the RNVR flying Attackers and Sea Furys.
Now….at our OAG meeting the other night, someone mentioned they could recall seeing a Firebrand, apparantly abandoned,at Benson for sometime after the Navy left, and wondered;-
a) why it was there
b) what happened to it??

Any ideas????????????
cheers

OK, I confess, it was in my shed. However, when I left the UK, I took it to the recycle centre.

Sorry.

more seriously, 100 gets 1 that it was scrapped. But it’s a worthwhile question to ask.
