Memories are made of this.

Was it just training for currency, or will we see and hear the beast at work again shortly. Sure hope so!

Clive, November was about the last time the six’s had any regular work. There have only been a handful of flights since then unfortunately.

So that’s what we heard running up at Baginton late a couple of evenings ago.
When the wind is in the right direction the sound reverberates over all of Coventry.
Well I enjoy it even if 99% of the rest of the city’s population don’t LOL.

Perhaps it’s time to send one out over East Lincolnshire…even if it’s in the middle of the night…!!
A few years ago it was a real treat, every day for about a fortnight, one was returning from the East over my works at Gunby, E Lincs…about 8-45am..magic.
I can just about remember what they sound like.!!..but a little reminder would be good.!!
Was it last November when one was last out this way…??

Lovely Pics. I agree the first one is a classic in all senses.
Is that the machine that used to fly over the Wirral on Sunday nights / very early Monday sometime between Midnight and 1am in the late 80s / early 90s? I never did find out what it was doing – I think someone said newspapers between Liverpool and Ireland – was that right?
My neighbours must have wondered who this salivating idiot was running outside in his jammies muttering “where is it?”

Agree about the first shot. The last time I saw a DC-6 was when one flew over my place of work last year.

I remember seeing one of these display in 2003, extremely agile for its size.

Very nice, prefer the look of the Electras but still a very fine aircraft
