😀 Now that got your attention……but only, not on the east side of the Atlantic. It is that time again for the CAF Hq Airshow in Midland, Tx. So, in addition to the many big iron birds that fly over Texas, we have the “growler” to patrol the skies and border. Thanks, to you (CAA)… we (in the states), have a very unique airplane to see where it belongs….. So for you gents and ladies, that are making the trip, please send photos to the rest….. And Steve Patty will not be making the trip to Midland in Hawker’s finest….. something about a road trip to China…….. Sorry guys, I’ve been reading this forum for years, just never registered……. For more airshow info, please see my post on the WIX board…… Now let the fun begin! Rants and Raves on the Shack may proceed! 😎

Haven’t been near a PC this weekend so no possibility to b***h or moan about it. Actually, very good to hear that the Shack will fly in the US. Thumbs up to the FAA for letting it fly, and middle finger in a slightly different direction to the CAA for not letting it fly! As for Mr. Patterson and going to China, is he searching for Centaurus components? 😀

Maybe not strictly true about the CAA. If anyone else has read this months “growler” it suggests that 963 at conventry is going to fly in UK air space with the blessing of CAA, with a re-spar,
replacing the bbmf lanc in 2009.
True? seems to ggod to be true.

I would post them, but sadly i don’t think i’ve ever taken a photo of a Shack in real life! Think my dads got some from when Air Atlantique ran up theirs at Cov at the classic airshow a few years back,i’ll try and dig them out.

I seem to be the kiss of death to any threads I respond to……….. 🙁

Can’t we turn this into a gratuitous Shackleton picture thread now?
One of my favourites indeed after growing up with them during my formative years in Elgin.
Four Griffons in close formation………Ahhhhhhhh…
Dig those pics out folks!

OK, gents I’m a little dis-appointed…. I really thought that the Shackleton flying again would stir up thoughts, comments, etc….. So, I know it’s a little late in the evening now, but Daz, MOTF, TJ, Steve T, & Moggy, I really thought I would elicit at least some response…. at least Sconner did….. and NO comments on Mr Patterson? 😮 What is the world coming to? LOL.. thanks gents for the most tounge-in-cheek comments in the world of warbirds…. Alan

Cheers. Still, they already have one tail dragger Shack there. Must pop along to one of their open days if i get the chance, i’d love a ride in a Twin Pin!

To be honest I don’t know. Until she is sat on the apron at Coventry I wouldn’t believe anything you might hear. One thing I have learnt during my time at AA is never try to second guess what they are going to do, it will always be exactly the opposite of what you might expect!

Are Air Atlantique still planning on bringing her back? The tail dragger Shacks look fantastic.

Long may her rivets rattle through the skies.
Just a shame she’s not here where she belongs.

Is that Shack owned by Air Atlantique?
Yes.

I saw it at Midland a few years ago, very nice shame it’s in the wrong skies though!
CAF show is absolutely outstanding, I wish I could get there this year. Texas hospitality is legendary.
