A Hunter for the price of a car!

Checking the site of Courtesy Aircraft, I see they are selling the former
G-HUNT for the low price of $35,000…less than 20,000 Pounds.

I wonder if it could returned to flying condition?

The Recycler (LA answer to Exchange & Mart) often has Migs in the $15K range… (15 & 17, not 21’s etc..)

I remember when Spencer bought this. I think the price was £1, via a third party.

If memory serves… British Aerospace had a buy back policy on the Hunters with the Danes, presumably to protect the Hawk market. They then distributed them to various preservation societies for a ‘peppercorn’ token sum.

I am sure a few eyebrows were raised at BAe at the time when they learnt one of them was to be restored to flight. 🙂

I think the price of a replacement canopy from the manufacturers at the time was in excess of £25k. 😮
