Preservation is a very strange animal, especially when it comes to transport aircraft.
I am not a great fan of the 1,11 but I would travel a long way to see XX105 restored to its BUA delivery colours. It is surely a more interesting airframe than the Duxford example or the Brooklands development aircraft?
The UK made very few commercially viable airliners yet more effort seems to be going into saving Nimrods than Domini’s, 748’s, Jetstreams or early 146’s. I can’t believe that the Nimrod is going to be a crowd puller anymore than the other types I have mentioned. Why is the Duxford Viscount (The oldest Viscount in the world!)kept out side?
I understand how you feel Bac1-11, but I fear museums will always favour military types, no matter how unsuccessful or useless they were.
