MiG-3 & Po-2 at MAKS 2005

In case anyone is interested…………

A couple of shots I took at Zhukovsky last Friday………

The MiG-3 is due to fly ‘next year’ – if all goes well.

Other than that, I don’t have any further info.

hi

I think the plan b option of using the Allison makes more sense as you don’t want to be flying and unknown aircraft with an unknown engine and then fit the engine later when the airframe is sorted out.

Just my thoughts

Great stuff Ken! See you had good weather…any more shots? Any Il-14s this year?

No – displays were well down on previous years.

We even had to endure a B-1 flypast !!!!

Frecci Tricolori, Patrouille de France, Aeritalia G-222 – I don’t want to go to bloody Moscow to see those !!!!

The visit to Lipetsk was AWESOME !! – some of the guys have already posted their photos at :- http://www.ukar.co.uk/board/ikonboard.cgi?;act=SF;f=9

I’m still sorting mine……

“Is there a surviving 12 cilinder Mulkim AM-35A?”

As I understand it the engine will be an original, built up using original parts from various recoveries aswell as some new build parts. I think they were having trouble finding serviceable bits for the reduction gear a few months back, dunno if that’s been solved.

Very impressive. Look forward to see this baby fly. A Mig-3 will be most welcome on the circuit! And I guess what kind of question comes next…. 😉

Stiggie –

Think its a genuine aircraft – there were some photos in A***plane or Flypast last month of her in Flypast – think they are trying to decide whether to fit an original spec engine or use an Allison – the photos I saw were of her in primer so they’ve moved on apace – shes a big old bird isnt she!

Dont know of any more extant….

Thanks Flanker man for posting!

A FLYING MIG 3! 😮

That is great news! I alwas loved the Mig 3 design. I never thought a day could come that such a plane would actualy fly. I’m looking forward to that.

Does someone know if it is a reproduction? Even if it is a new built plane, it will be a joy to see in the sky. I already like these static pics.

Thanks for posting Flanker man!

Stieglitz
