Rub frame almost completed – or it will be by saturday!

Think Tony brought T-6G G-DDMV in on Sunday Andy – did you see him? Did he do any aeros? Did the Lightnings have a burn up?

TJ – think youre right about the Volpar conversion but dont mind the Turbine conversion so much if they leave the glazing and dual fins alone!

TT

Great news about the frame, means we can get moving on the base, I noticed on Sunday there was just one large section and a load of straight bits still on the left hand side.
As far as I was aware I didnt see any sign of the T-6 on Sunday, just the Stearmans, Extra and Pitts
No we didnt even get the covers off the lightnings, many reasons why you know the usual stuff, the day for us was a waste of time, and running one of the was out of the question due to the track being in constant use with all the hot cars flying round, met some interested punters who had never heard of Bruntingthorpe before ! So got some good PR for the open day and shed

Cheers
Andy

Phil, was at the asda day on Sunday, due to lots of problems none of us got our A/C into their display area usual Bruntingthorpe problems !
All in all and interesting day though, Crunchy Stearmans, Extra 300 and a Pitts did some really neat flying.
Anyway noticed that some nice person has parked about 200 tons of earth right by the side of the Beech !
Assume you know and assume you werent best pleased
Lots of people who saw it made some very pleasing comments, its a credit to you guys.
Hows the Rub frame removals going ? weve got a diiger and driver waiting to start

to be honest, the weather was so bad on the saturday we thought it was gonna be a wash out

we saw that big pile of mud and as you say weren’t all that impressed. good wind break, if only the wind came from that direction

the rub is all but apart now. just a bit round on nev’s side to do………dave needs to get straightening…..we are ready to start moving scrap (tony’s)

glad people liked the beech…..thanks mate

I know…..those volpar 18’s are not the real deal…….they look awfull in my opinion.

Ours is coming along…..slowly but still coming on…..

electrics is holding us up at the moment as is the weather…….we were inside under the vulcan until a few weeks back…..we were able to work on it easily inside……..outside it is a real problem

hope to have her running in next month or so….

i must update my website

I saw one of these beasties in the San Diego area last year, looked interesting. Look forward to seeing it out and about in the UK hopefully.

Great to see your Beech in those blue colors. Loved Graham Warner’s bird in the old paint job, but never got to see it in the flesh. Only in the silver colors which came later. Look forward to see the completed plane one of these days, as they say; “will it be at…..” 😉 😀

Remember walking past the Volpar that used to sit outside Aero Trader every day when I was living there. I think it belonged to Scholl or Ritzman’s father in law??? Quite likely very spacious inside, but it doesn’t look the part!

I guess it can be said that the turbine version Volpar doesn’t make the Beech look any better either. 😮

However it would be nice if someone painted their C-45 in the Air America scheme. It looks kinda cool! 😎

Volpar… 😮 Do you let anyone in at Bruntingthorpe??? A Beech 18 is supposed to have a wheel at the rear, not the front. Boot him out at the earliest convenience…. 😉 😀
So, what’s the latest on your Beech 18 then?
