One of our Skyvans is broken….

A Shorts Skyvan being airlifted back to Salalah in the Oman after being bent in a rough landing whilst supplying an outlying strongpoint in November 1979.

Although the war with the neighbouring People’s Republic of the Yemen was over, the occasional band of intruders still made forays into Omani territory.

I have others but they’re all B&W and fairly ropey, they were only proof prints. Water damaged the lower portion of the photo I’m afraid.

Ditto this Bell 205….

If I have got the techie bit right, you should see a Shorts SD-330 prototype(okay its not a Skyvan) being lifted from Nutts Corner airfield to Langford Lodge in Northern Ireland.
