According to the display section on the BBMF website, PA474 was at Eastbourne today and will be tomorrow as well. But I swear that I see the old girl flying South East between Ware and Hertford at about 2:45PM today, tail end glimpse, and unescorted. I may be wrong ,but the end profile from the distance I was at looked right.

She was escorted today as she flew over Dane End.
Hurricane on the port, Spitfire starboard. Don’t ask me which ones as my eyes are not that good and I could not find my spec’s.
The escorts were well out from the Lanc which might make you think they were not there.
What a sound, the seem to echo long after they have gone.

The Lanc’ was at Eastbourne today…as was I, far from my Lincolnshire home….
It was holding briefly inland while the fighters displayed, with the BBMF display starting at 3pm.

en-route Eastbourne…probably just heading south-east-ish when you saw to go around London I’d suspect… Neil..
