Saw what I believe was the BBMF Dakota flying fairly low somewhere near Thirsk in Yorkshire today whilst on my way home. Was there an airshow or anything in the area today?

Tend to see me dinner again on the dak, even bbmf veterans like fluffy love to blow chunks on the dak. FLYING SICK BAG
You should have tried flying in the bomber before the heat exchanger was sorted out, there’s nothing like 180 mph exhaust fumes to induce a technicolour yawn. Oh happy days….

no1 engine required changing by the engine dudes, job done. Test flew today, one of the lads has been thrashing ps (mkxix) to within an inch of its life for the last two days setting the engine up so that should be flying soon.

Well I have to say that’s a pretty comprehensive and well illustrated answer to my original question – Thanks very much everybody – especially the BBMF and in particular Usernamechanged!

the only aircraft ever to do that to me is the dear old chipmunk, on saying that though i almost chucked it after some austrian beer then flying in rough turbulance in a cesspit 172 in Slovinia 😮 (wasn’t drunk though, just had beer on an empty stomach 😮 and didn’t have paws on the controls so the beer was allowed 🙂 )

Much movement over Finchingfield last few days, friday afternoon P-47 nearly removed roof going very fast closely followed by Hellcat and Wildcat, 2 other a/c then passed on other side of village, possibly P-51’s all heading south.
Yesterday afternoon spitfire and hurricane flying very close heading north, Easyjet had a good view.

I also took two poor quality shots! – Snap! I was on the A171 (I think) on my way to the A1.
By: Drossel - 31st July 2005 at 20:01
I saw it too. It had just flown over the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington (they had a classic vehicle event on) then it headed towards Thirsk. I took a photo (poor quality but in my defence – I was the passenger in a moving car!) I can confirm though it was the BBMF one.

i saw what i thought to be a dak too, i was on the M62 aproching the A1 turn off. it was heading roughly towards Doncaster, unfortunatly it was at some distance so i couldnt see any markings.
