Well, the weather didn’t do us any favours, but the rain stopped about 3.30, allowing some people to commit ‘aviation’, and giving me the chance to get these photos.
Many thanks again to YakRider for giving me a lift there & back, and for taking me up for my first flight (see the 24th July photo thread for the photos of this).

My pleasure, Geoff.
Must mention that Clive Denney gave us some cracking flypasts in the Hurricane. Who can blame him taking the long way back to Duxford!

The Beech is marked N96240, I don’t know if it ever had a UK reg.

Is that Beech 18 not G-AYAH, once owned by Visionair? If so, it has been rattling around for years, but never moving much. It was slumped at Booker for a while in about 1978.
A year or two earlier, Jeff Hawke (owner) took it through a full blown aerobatic routine at one of the Greenham Air Tatoos. Scary!

I can’t seem to find the thread.
Thanks.

I am told it has had its engines run very recently and moved under power (but not flown yet).
Does Aces High still exist, and are they the owners?

Is it airworthy, who owns it and will it ever fly again?

What’s the story with the Beech 18, N96240? For as long as I can remember, it has been semi-derelict, first at Rochester and now at North Weald.
