Greetings
I posted a week ago about no Luftwaffe pilots at Flying Legends 2005!
Can anyone tell me the truth behind the following appearing at Aces High Wendover 9th/10th July and not at Duxford?
OBERST HAJO HERMANN
MAJOR GUNTHER BAHR
LEUTNANT HUGO BROCH
LEUTNANT WALTER SCHUCK
GENERALLEUTNANT GUNTHER RALL
Back in December 2004, at his house, Gunther Rall confirmed to me that he would be at Duxford for Flying Legends!
One trusts that we are not at the behest of political correctness…funny…I thought that the Luftwaffe was a major WW2 protagonist, but I could be mistaken!

This was posted today on a similar thread at the BoBHS discusion board.
‘I spoke with Rick Taylor at Aces High a few weeks ago when they had Gordon Sinclair & Co there signing. It is true that Duxford for whatever reason have said ‘No’ to them attending albeit that they are highly decorated people in their own right. It seems, and I remember it well, because my father sent me a clipping from one of the Daily Tabloids, that a person from Royston Hertfordshire, had complained that Gunther Rall had been invited and he should not be there because he was shooting down our chaps over Germany. The celebrations therefore at that time should be reserved for the bomber crews there and not any of the Germans. Duxford at that time appeared to receive some bad press because Rall was there so therefore this is believed to be the reason why they have said ‘No’ to this event. That is why Rick has had to quickly get four 617 Sqn guys to cover the refusal by Duxford to have the 5 Knights Cross winners there!’

Perfectly sprung? I decided to just post a thread saying it was cancelled on the spur of the moment one Friday night. Perfectly sprung with transparency.

Call that a wind up? You should have been here when I covinced them a Tiffy was the secret special guest. THAT was a wind up.
Anyone know about the Zeppelin?

The rest of the world does not stop turning while Flying Legends take place.
Don’t say that Ashley, there are far too many people on here who believe it does 😉 😀

Veetwin…stop stirring. As suggested, why not phone up Aces High or the Imperial War Museum? The rest of the world does not stop turning while Flying Legends take place. Just because these veterans are not attending Legends does not mean they have been barred by the IWM, it simply means they have chosen to attend an event elsewhere.

Wasn’t it suggested you went away last time you tried to stir this up?
