Going to Hamburg

All,

I am going to Hamburg on business next month and was wondering if there is anything “historic” worth searching out whilst I am there.
I will be staying in the city centre, with no transport

All guidance greatfully received

If you get up near Heiligengeistfeld, you can see the last Flak tower in Hamburg, monstrous great lump of a building!.

Preserved at Airbus’s Finkenwerder airfield are a Super Guppy and an ex-French AF Noratlas.

There is a company operating a Beaver floatplane from the port area on sightseeing flights. See http://www.airliners.net/open.file/859765/M/

The high spot of my last trip to Hamburg was a trip down the Reeperbahn to watch a version of the Phantom of the Opera. 😮 😉

Joking apart it was great fun. PM me for details

not historic but Airbus do run tours around the facility at Hamburg – did the tour a couple of years ago and it is very interesting – we actually were allowed inside one that was being finished.
