CWHM “Soar with Legends”

A few pictures taken at Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum “Soar with Legends” on Saturday,,,it was a bit of a cloudy day but the boys still managed to put on a good open house event..it was the first “Public engine run” of the newly restored Lysander…and a few of the regular were in flying mode for the public to see up and close…many of the flyers were also open to the public including their Lancaster…Always a treat to climb into her especially when you have to enter thru the bomb aimer escape hatch…

It is a DH Buffalo. The rest of the airframe is stored outside the storage shed.

i think you will find it’s a Buffalo – the radome is the real giveaway

i could be wrong but I have been in and around caribous a lot and it looks more like the Buffalo to me – I can’t say I ever saw a caribou with a radome.

I would say that it is either a Caribou or a Buffalo. I’ve read a story about the airframe somewhere a while back but I can’t remember what exactly it is.

I know the Caribou had -2800s and the Buffalo had turbines but I can’t tell the difference by those two pics of it.

The Lysander looks great and should make for some very interesting air to airs whenever they get taken.
