Heads up!
Quinte 2005 Model Jet Rally will be held on June 11 – 12, 2005 at CFS Mountainview just 15 kms south of Bellville, Ontario on highway 62.
Public will be admitted after 9:00 p.m both days and the cost for spectators is $5.00 per person.
A great chance to watch radio controlled model jets buzz around and see where most of the aircraft from the Canadian Armed Forces are retired to before being sold off or scrapped.
Only happens once a year!
Regards,

Brit
She is mounted on her post now in front of ther terminal building with gear down and manequin sitting inside.
She is in the markings of 491 aircraft to represent the last military aircraft to leave london.
There are some concerns over the way she was mounted and also markings?

Hello Brit.
Yes we got up on the wing and had a look inside. No engine fitted no seats or sticks but both instrument panels were fitted… there was still a fair bit inside the cockpit misc switch panels etc

I think that CF-18 behind the Buffalo might be bound for the museum too.

Hornet at Trenton?
Does anyone know if the CF-118A parked/in storage near the RCAF Museum at Trenton is also going to be part of their collection serial #118778..it appears pretty complete…

I took my pictures of the Mig and Buffalo on the other side of the fence. It still somewhat limited for access but it gives you a better angle for airport activity…you just go thru the Check point north of the museum. It is not a restricted area, as long as you don’t try to climb over any fences…
Thanks for the link to the previous story..and that was the Buffalo I saw at MW..
The Wings seemed to be pretty good shape but they can be cut off kinda rough..

Canuck,
Have you seen this post?
http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=29634&highlight=mountainview
I read on the Museum newsletter that the Mig was going to be getting a new paint job along with a few other aircraft. Maybe the Buffalo will be getting one too. They are going to expand the airpark. Did you take those pics from the Museum grounds or other side of the fence? Just curious.
There were a pair of wings sitting beside the tutor cockpit at Mountainview. I thought that they might be from to a Buffalo. Did you see them?

Buffalo’s…………..
Mike
I was there from 11 till 1:30
I noticed one Buffalo stored in one the Hangars, are anymore hidden indoors at MW?
I also noticed a few more newer parts added to the Buffalo stored outside(on the back lot) at the RCAF museum in Trenton..will she be part of the collection in the future?

Peter,
There was no sign of the CT-133’s I saw last year sitting off on the side ramp with the tutors are including the snowbird airframe. I hope they found someone to love them!
I remember going to the fan jet rally with the RCAFM Museum Argus sitting where the tutors are now.
Canuck,
I was there at about 9:30 or so. There are always a number of us that go to the rally to view the real aircraft, but I still enjoy watching the models fly around.

Peter,
I have pictures taken three years ago and I would say that quite a few airframes have moved on…
Mike,
I guess I could have probably seen you at the Rally on Saturday..only a few like you and me were taking much attention to the stored airframes,,,

Cheers MIke..!
Did it look like there were less planes outside than last year now?
