Not content with getting wet down south yesterday, gave the northern version of damp stuff a try today.. The P51 and Hurricane were due out around 1400 for East Fortune but I dont think they made it as I left at 1330ish and the weather had turned a bit claggy.. my first trip up there, pleased to see the Mew Gull especially as I bought Mr Henshaws book at Dunsfold, also thourght the Aeronca looked like a lot of fun! P51 looked great as did the Buchon..

It’s a real shame, I was really looking forward to photographing the Hurri and Susy in the air for the first time this year 🙁 You’ve done well to get that pic!
Sadly the ones of them in the air together are very poor – my lens was suffering from rain drops! I hope somebody will post some later.

Hmm yes I’m disapointed to miss that too, but looking at the weather I didnt think it would clear up enough – it p’d down all the way home too.. my first visit but wont be my last, it was a nice suprise that its almost exactly the same distance from me as Duxfiord is but a much nicer/quicker drive!

Yes I was there this afternoon. We tried sitting out the rain but it just seemed like there was no end so we headed off. I will post some of my shots either tonight or tomorrow.
I’ll look forward to seeing them. As you can see from the photo – the Hurricane was taking off into the rain – there was a dry spell just before it took off but it didn’t last long. Not the best weather for photos never mind flying!

Cheers – did you go to Breighton?

lol! Was it still raining when they displayed?
Yes – it started again as they took off.

they took off at 3.25 pm according to my camera – (which got very wet but seems to have dried out okay!)
