Some additional information posted on the LEMB:

This was the fuselage of Fw200C coded F8+BR found at Bordeaux Mérignac in 1944, and used for ground training for parachutists under the famous future Général Marcel Bigeard. The camp was located near the Dune du Pyla in Arcachon, in the park of Hotel Haïtza. The fuselage vanished some years later and one of its parts reused as a caravan! It was like Nessy for aviation enthusiasts for years in this area of France! Source : “Le Fana de l’aviation” n°298, August 1994.

Lets hope that additional information isn’t as elusive as Nessy 🙂
