Southend 30/05/2005 pictures

Hi all,
Well we got very very wet. The showers that were forcast turned into prolonged downpoors with the odd clap of thunder thrown in for good measure. The organisers & pilots did a fantastic job of getting pretty much everything that was supposed to display out, the weather was pretty bad at times…

I am afraid to say it here, but the star of the show for me was the Typhoon. It was an awe inspiring display which impressed me no end..

Anyway here are a few pictures that I have processed so far.

Lovely shots of the BBMF!

I’ll echo that.

Despite the two torrential storms, Monday’s weather was actually half decent for photography, especially at the airport, where the Vulcan taxi run was bathed in glorious sunshine!

Hmm, It has suddenly started working!

I can only echo CharlieBravo’s comments about the organisers. I think the Red Bull Matadors warrent a special mention for putting on a very impressive display through some pretty heavy rain!

The weather cleared at the end for the Typhoon display which was fantastic!

Thanks

Hi all,
Well we got very very wet.

Didn’t we just . . . . . .

But I also have to commend the display organisers, ATC & aircrew for giving us as much of a show as they could. . . .

In MANY MANY years of being involved with airshows I have NEVER seen the Falcons & “the Reds” display in such close proximity to Thunderstorms . . . . .

And full marks to the London TMA ATC who let so many acts penetrate controlled airspace above, including the particularly memorable Typhoon climb to 12000ft at the end . . . . . (memories of the Lightning “rocket climbs” of old)

Hmm,
I did wonder if that would be the case :(. PBase is playing silly games again with external linking. Anyway until I can fix it, here is a link to the gallery:-
