Having a walk about yesterday looking at the various buildings behind the hangars, i saw a Lysander under restoration, can’t remember who by, it said on the sheet in the window, could have been the IWM but not too sure, anyone got any info on it? Also, in the brick shed thingy between hangars 2 and 3 with the Sea Vixen, Phantom and Gannet in it, there was the centre wing section of an aircraft, apparently a tail dragger, with the same sort of undercarriage as a Hurricane, any idea what that is?

Cheers guys, robbo thats exactly the same centre section i saw, couldn’t think of any other aircraft with undercarriage legs that opened like that except for the Hurricane, can’t wait to see those fireflys, are they going to be in FAA colours? Btw yes it was the Lizzie in building 66, the IWM Bolingbroke seems to be coming along very well also

There are two Firefly’s which were recovered from a barn in Sweden. They were on display at last years HFL/ARC open day and are to be restored by ARCo. SE-BRG to airworthy and IIRC SE-CAU to static.
The chap pictured in front of SE-BRG is the former owner (apologies to him as his name escapes me at present).
Are you refering to the Lizzie in Building 66? If so it’s another of ARCo’s work in progress. The fin was pictured in July 04 and the wing in September 04.
Edit: Robbo got there while I was loading the pictures.

There used to be a Meteor centre section there last year.
To save others the bother, the posted link doesn’t include a piicture of the mystery object
