Mikael Carlson and his Two Bleriot XI

Greetings dear Forum!

First time visiting you! Hope everybody is OK and that you will have a
wonderful summer with beautiful airplanes in the skies.

Have you ever visited TeamM’s website?
TeamM is a Swedish web shop for military and historical aviation videos, and
one of our project we are working on is a film about the Swedish aviator
Mikael Carlson, sole owner, builder and pilot of TWO Bleriot XI in flying condition.
Mikael has been flying his first Bleriot XI since 1990 and has been invited to
fly on air shows all over the world.

TeamM has filmed Mikael Carlson during his work with his Bleriots, and
will finnish a documentary film about him during 2005-2006.

Feel free to visite us at http://www.teamm.se

Wonderful videos of the Bleriot on the website. I’m in awe Mikael, look forward to seeing you for real at Biggin Hill in September!

Have Shuttleworth thought of tempting Mikael to stay for the final ‘Sunset’ display??? (Its almost on the way back to the ferry!!)

Hi all,

Regarding the Tummelisa; yes he still flies the Tummelisa. We visited Mikael
in April this year, to take still photos and to film Mikael for our film project.
One of the items on our agenda for that day was to take photos of
the Tummelisa as well, air-to-air, which we did. So, the Tummelisa still flies! 🙂

Have a look at http://www.teamm.se/product.asp?product=83&page=1)
to se a video clip from Mikael’s first flight this year with his second Bleriot XI.

Regarding the display at a windy Biggin Hill; Well, according to Mikael’s wife he
has become bolder in his flying during the later years! On the other hand,
those how know Mikael or those having heard him talk about his flying realise
that he knows his business, and that he has good judgement when it comes
to flying.

Have a wonderful summer!

Welcome to the forum.
I see Mikael is booked with the Tummelisa and Bleriot for Biggin Hill this year too, I myself can not wait.
The Bleriot display was great but i personally thought the Tummelisa display was even more amazing, Its a great little replica with a REAL Rotary engine. The very type of Aircraft you would expect to be flown sedately but Mikael does much more than that with her.

Does he still fly the Tummelisa? What a cracking display that was at Biggin in 2003 🙂

Welcome aboard TeamM,

Thanks for the info on Mikael Carlson, his display in the XI at a windy Biggin Hill a couple of years ago was for me one the most remarkable displays I have ever seen.

His control of the Bleriot was superb although I did think he was a total lunatic to fly in such windy conditions.

Septic.
