Mk XI Airborne Again!

I have to admit, it maybe be one of my best pics ever and I’ve been photographing for over ten years. It just came out really well (pic is straight from the camera) and I just really love the painterly feel of this shot. Benefits from a bit of rainclouds during the show. I actually have two of them, extremely similar, but this one is crisper.

Nick, did you submit pics to Flypast too, last year? I saw some of “my” pics in there, if you know what I mean. You can always tell when people were standing close to you on an airshow! 😀

Al, the pics you just posted are fine, given the weather. Don’t despair, it’s early in the season! Plenty of opportunities ahead 😉
Perhaps that shot was beginner’s luck too. It was the first time I used my EOS 300D – it was only a few days old then and I hadn’t practised yet. I reckon 80% of my Flying Legends 2004 shots was slightly out of focus… :rolleyes: But 20% of 400 pics is still a nice “harvest” 😀

Ahh so that’s who it was over west Colchester yesterday afternoon around ten to three. Sounded lovely.

Has to be one of the most beautiful Spitfire variants of all of them 🙂
