I think my group was fairly noticeable as one of my pilot friends had turned up in her full goth gear, making Polythene Pam look distinctly dowdy by comparison.
But no, I can’t get excited about helicopters unless they are armed, so was merely watching from the rail without a camera as I thought it was such a nice gesture by HP and it made me feel really good to see.
Hence I got talking to the mother, but there were three passengers if I am not mistaken, your partner obviously being one, and you being the ‘loader’
Still think he’s a top bloke. 😀
There where 3 of us passengers, me, my partner and a young lad who must be the one you where talking to his mum who said he didnt feel well and got out so didnt join us.
Here here he is a top bloke. He certainly made my partners week at least.

Also the aerials above were from Hairyplane’s Robinson. Just to note that at the end, after nearly everybody else had left, I was on the fence talking to a nice lady watching some disabled kids being loaded into the same eggbeater. We got talking at it turned out that her son had met Hairyplane weeks earlier at OW and the latter had shown him some of his aicraft. “Next time you come I’ll take you for a flight”
The kid sought him out this time and got the treat of his life. He was one of the ones being loaded.
I’m sure HP didn’t do it just so he can be lauded as a great bloke.
But great bloke he is.

Moggy,
I did wonder if there where any forumites lurking in that small group on the fence line. It was actualy my partner who i was loading into the helicopter and not so easily extracting her. We both loved the flight and i was wondering if anyone got any photos as we departed.

Martin
Getting aircraft in and out of a hangar is a black art! In this case the aircraft was situated in such a way that it is easier to swing it and push it out backwards.
If you want to see how they do it, try and stay late after a show and watch the crews putting the aircraft away. I’ve been helping for years and I still havent got a clue how they do it, I just push when I am told to! 😉

Some really nice pics. The P40 shots are great. Why is one of the Hurricane’s wings inside the hangar? Looks like an odd way of trying to get the plane inside if that is what they are trying to do.
Thanks
Martin

I’ll second that, one of the good guys of historic aviation.

Lovely pics as ever, almost as good as being there.
Two points from me – What an incredible turn out, queued for ages to get in but I’m not complaining, it must have been a welcome boost for the coffers after a truly awful weathered season last year. I have never seen the place so full.
