It’s ok, Swiss.
Here is one of the sites I posted them originally: http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/registry/spitregistry/spitfire-pl965-2.html.
The other one seems not to be active anymore.

The Spitfire picture in the first post as well as the pictures shown in reply #10 are mine. On the B-25 pictures: the 1968 photo was taken by my dad, and the 1985 one by myself. They were probably taken from Airliners.net or Jetphotos.net, as those are the only two sites I uploaded them to; the banners seem to be ripped off though. Next time, leave the banner on or give the photographer his credit. The way this has been done, I can loose track of how and where my pictures are used. The Spitfire photo was taken from another website; I uploaded it to two sites dedicated to Spitfires.
Anyway, I’m not a really bad guy, so here is a picture of B-25 41-30792 as it is looking nowadays in its indoors diorama setting. It is not a really good pic as I had no flash.
I hope you don’t mind I added a copyright mark this time :diablo: ?

I knew that serial didn’t look right, yet typing in “TP263” during my document search found sod-all! 🙁

A fellow forum member (jbs, I think) sent me a photo of the hanging Spitfire
Guilty as charged 😀
BTW, the serial is actually TP263 and it is a Mk.XVIII masquarading as a Mk.XIV – Mark12 can give you all the gory details
Another BTW, NH649 can be attributed to the Indian AF serial HS-649, as the RAF serial was not known at the time

A fellow forum member (jbs, I think) sent me a photo of the hanging Spitfire, which I now cannot find in My Documents, but here it is on the Warbirds Registry.

I’m probably wrong on this, but something at the back of my mind tells me it’s under cover these days, along with the Spitfire sent to replace ‘965.
Daz,
You are too hard on yourself :p
You are absolutely correct. This true veteran with many missions to its credit has been fully restored and sits in a diorama under cover together with Spit XIV/XVIII NH649, a V1 and a T6.
IIRC the Spit and V1 are hung from the ceiling 😡 . Although it has been a while since I visited. I think Mark 12 could talk for hours about the whole provenance of this Spit, what it was and what it has become. A very nice exhibit.

I have a rather poor quality photograph of that aeroplane which I took at Overloon about a month later in July 85. If I remember correctly, there was also a B25 on external display, does anyone know whether it’s still there, or where it is now?
Interesting museum, Overloon. You walked down woodland paths and encountered aeroplanes, tanks, and artillery pieces…

🙂
Remember seeing the same pic (or a similar one) in Spitfire in Blue by Hugh Smallwood, but couldn’t recall when it was taken except that it wore the same scheme when recovered by Nick Grace.

It’s either mid-70s or ’80s, at any rate.

Low level PR pilot’s map blown overboard. Tries to navigate by moss on tree trunks.
I think Daz is right…

PL965, Overloon, mid-70s, I think.
