I was just filing a bunch of Fleet Air Arm material that I copied to negative from original prints yonks ago.
This one of some Avengers particularly caught my eye.
I see shots like this and I do wonder why the the old TBM is so under-rated as a ‘Warbird’.

Feet wet Avengers. What a nice sight. You are of course correct in your observation that the Avenger was one of the GREAT aircraft of WW2. FRom the beginning to the end and some. Sort of a Gooney Bird of bombers….
I played with mine today.
