DX VE Display provisional aircraft list up…

The IWM DX site has it’s provisional list for flying and static aircraft up if it hasn’t been mentioned already. Interestingly it has a number of different types defiating from the usual May display. I do hope Princess Liz does make it, and whose Sea Fury and Yak 11 pair would it be? I assume RNHF for the former.

See the list here http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/ConWebDoc.2391

True – maybe they can save the jets for the “walk back to the car” slot…. 😀

Presumably jet-fans hate it as much the other way round?

Nope – I’m certainly with you on this one! I wonder if they could organise the flying to minimise the amount of time when jet noise “interupts” the pistons?

Yes, it should be the RNHF Sea Fury. The Sea Hawk may also be present.

My heart always sinks when I see the paraffin burners in amongst the piston warbirds.

It’s not that I would deprive bunsen burner fans of their fun, but the tight timings of the Dux shows means that the jets are frequently running up whilst the props are displaying. Their irritating whine masking the beautiful piston sounds.

Presumably jet-fans hate it as much the other way round?
