The first Consolidated Liberator to arrive in Britain

The other day when scanning through microfilms of The New Zealand Observer magazine, I spied a photo of the first Liberator to arrive in Britain. It was in RAF Bomber Command camouflage rather than Coastal Command style white, and the serial started with A

The caption said the pilot was an RNZAF officer from Aucklan. At the time I didn’t have a pen and had run out of credit on my card so didn’t print the page out. I have been thinking about it since and would like to know more such as the date (which I think was 1941), where it landed, what became of the plane, and whether the rest of the crew were RAF, or if any other Kiwis were onboard. The caption never elaborated to all these details of course, just had the pilot’s name (which i have forgotten) and that it was the first to arrive in the UK.

Does anyone know the serial and details? Or will I have to trawl back through the reels of film to find it again?
