Firstly i would like to thank Voy Tech for his hospitality when Lena and i met him in Warsaw last year, These photo’s are from our Visit to the Polish Army Museum and i really should have shared these ages ago.
I have become a rather idle member of the forum of late mainly as so much has been going on in other parts of my life and generally i can’t keep up, With a busy summer coming up for me too i am not sure how many Airshows i will be able to attend this year so in many cases i will be living the shows through other peoples camera lenses this year.

Given the age of some of the exhibits and what looks like their generally pretty decent condition I think you’ve been a bit unfair there – they look to be receiving as much care as any external exhibit at the better UK museums, and perhaps more!
I was not meaning to put down any efforts they have made with this collection and i agree they are overall in very good condition, I had never seen some of these types in the flesh so to speak before and was very glad of the chance.
I am certainly not saying they are being treated badly or left to rot as has happened in UK in many cases.
I recommend anybody visiting Warsaw to spend some time at this museuem and see the Katyn exhibition before you leave it will make you think.

I was in this place this january, but there was a huge pack of snow, so i did not take pics.
Do you have any pics of the stuff that was inside? There were some very nice
models and other memorablia, including Liberator and B17 wreckage. But what impressed me the most was the exhibition about Katyn, that I stumbled accross unprepared.
In Katyn Stalin ordered the massacre of more than 15000 POW Polish officers.
The exhibition holds vast displays filled with hundreds, thousands of personal items displayed by item, recovered from the exhuming in the 90’s.Glasses, shaving gears, shoes, brass uniform buttons and insignia’s as silent wittnesses of what happened in the forests of Katyn.
It did not seem right to photo inside so i did not take any at all, The Katyn exhibition is very moving and is something i did not know much about before hand.

Interesting pics. It’s always nice to see something from that side of Europe.
Thanks for sharing.

Nice photos, where is this collection? Have been to the Krakow museum which was excellent, but very underfunded. Nice to see a IL28, would love to see one in the air.
Do any still fly anywhere?

Lovely stuff that.
Are the aircraft there simply out of service/retired with a sign in front of them or are there conservation/restoration programmes evident?
Roger Smith.
I think its fair to say there is not a great deal of Conservation/Restoration going on at the moment, I am guessing work is done when needed i would also guess any funding would be greatly appreciated, They have a few great Gems there in my view.
