Brothers Advice was “practice makes perfect” on a bit of a leaning curve still, only got into photography within the last year thanks to my brother, and this is the first camera i have even owned. Have a look at www.pbase.com/phoenix_uk for some of my brothers pictures to get some idea of what he can do.
Thanks all for the kind comments and encouragement, i must admit i am a great admirer of the images that people post on this forum, there are some lucky and talented people out there.

Yeah I had an S5000 to start with and had problem’s with fast action, but after 6 weeks it packed up and they gave me the S5500 and that one is fine with action shots.

Fuji 6900. Got some good sunset stuff myself. No good for fast action. Has trouble keeping up with a Boxkite! 😀

The pictures i have done today i have done nothing with them apart from a bit of cropping, they were taken in raw format, and then converted to jpeg, the camera it’s self seems to handle low light fine (after a few pointers from my more expert older brother) it’s the first time i have taken any pictures with this camera, the others i have done have been with the use of my brothers eos 10d. with regards to activity, a fiesler storch did some flyby’s, and the only other aircraft movements i saw was a few yak’s coming and going and classic wings doing there pleasure flights. All the warbirds were inside being worked on in preparation for the first show of the season.

Nice pics.
Was there any aerial activity worthy of note today?

Are you pleased with it and is it a god all-rounder? Par example, how does it handle in low light? My existing Fuji is a bit poor in this respect so is a bad tool for sunset displays and dim hangars.
Have thought about a 350 myself but it’s the cost of the lenses that put me off (though there is something attractive about going the whole hog with a telephoto IS in your hand!). Any pointers much appreciated.
EDIT: what you really need is a smelly-vision camera that portrays the smell of hangar 2 – hmmmmmm nice.
