Hi all
I know this is a little tenuous as an aviation link but today was the birthday of 5836351 Pvt. Harry Jones, ex of the 464 Air Formation Signals, otherwise known as my Dad.
To celebrate the event Fergy1 from our little congregation was kind enough to drive round in the Jeep and give Dad a ride round the locale.
Kevin even found the correct AFS. Badges (which incorporated a Beaufighter) and had them put on the Jeep.
In return Dad regaled him with stories of flying around in Dakotas in North Africa and Italy, and lots of other things too.
The upshot of all this is that Dad has agreed, with my help to write down his war reminiscences.
So Kevin, many, many thanks from Harry and I.
He was still talking about it when I got back there at three this afternoon.

Well done Fergy1, and yes, that’s what the forum’s all about. Thanks to the forum, a few stalwart bods, another batch of wartime reminiscence gets bashed down. A sucess all around.

Great job by all involved, Andy I remember you telling me about this on the phone….great Jeep Fergy, love those old ones (I drive ONLY Jeep)….hope dad had as much fun as it looks like he had!
