La Ferte Alais airshow programme

Finaly, you can find a programme of the 2005 LFA airshow.

Take a look here:

http://www.ajbs.com/Les-Meetings/Meeting-2005/Avions-2005.htm

Highlights for me are the Spitfire PR XIX and the Curtis H-75! 😎

Greets,

J.V.

Yes I know Merlin, I suppose it’s just for the LFA airshow to fly with Hawk 75.

with new color scheme (french color)

Technically it’s a D-3801 and is a development based on the MS-406

I went by train the year before so knew the route OK. When I got to Gare Du Lyon there were huge posters up with a revised timetable. The train times had been changed from the normal times and there appeared to only be trains running very early in the morning and then again very late in the evening. I had hoped to get the 07:41, but it wasn’t running at that time. If I remember correctly I was told there was one more train due to leave around 08:00, but despite waiting until 09:00 it didn’t arrive. It was then that I gave up!! My broken understanding of the posters & conversation with the ticket office gave me the impression that the line had been closed for repair work (‘engineering work’).

Mossie what do you mean by ‘engineering works’ ?

I know French sncf is often in strike but i never heard SNCF stopped for ‘engineering works’. I’m sure the RER D was in function 2 years ago during the show, some friends of me used it

To go to La FertΓ© Alais from Gare de Lyon, you must use the RER D but be carefull there are two RER D in south direction, one go to Malesherbes (the good one) and another go to Melun.

You need to take the RER D in direction to Malesherbes.

I wonder if I could ask a favour of one of our Continental friends?

2 years ago I attempted to go to the show by train (RER D) only to find when I got to Gare Du Lyon that there were engineering works with no trains running. As I can’t understand fench too well I couldn’t figure out what was going on, whether there were replacement buses, etc and ended up stuck in Paris for the day!!

Now this year I’m planning on trying again but really don’t want to end up in the same situation. I’ve therefore attempted to find out online whether there are any planned engineering works for the weekend of 14/15 May on the RER D line. Unfortunately the only sites with English versions don’t go into this much detail, and sending an email asking for this information only gets me re-directed to a different site with the same problem. I was therefore wondering if someone could have alook on the French websites and see if this information is actually available?

Sites that I’ve tried include: sncf.com, ratp.fr and parisinfo.com.

If anyone can help I’d be extremely grateful.

Many thanks

Geoff

He thinks it is classy to get out of the bath to pee.

Oh dear. They’re not letting you loose on the public are they. At least if you cause embrassment you’ll be a long way from home. πŸ˜€

Wasn’t there an old eccentric down in Hampshire trying to restore one of those at one point?
What-ever happened to him?

Dunno.

But the airshow organisers seem to think that it’s classy business!
