My wife has said that for my 40th birthday, I can take a flight in something unusual. What can I get for £250? Something in the South would be more practical.
Grateful for any ideas and even better if the money could go towards keeping something interesting in the air.

Flying in a catalina including (weather permitting) a landing on water. It should be affordable even when including an easyjet ticket to AMS and the train fare to lelystad.

If you wave that kind of money about at North Weald you can probably get yourself a whiz-round in a Jet Provost. Better be quick though as John (affordable housing) Prescott has got the field in his sights.
I have to agree with Will J, The Twin Pin is a hoot. Go to one of the open days at Coventry, and you could have FIVE flights for your money…Rapide, DC3, Prentice, Chipmunk…..
Yak 52’s are brilliant, you should not have trouble finding a willing cost-sharer if you put the word out.

Not quite the south but easy to get to by motorways…
