In my March 2005 339th News Letter, there were two articles about this plan in Cambridge to make Duxford its airfield and a second article saying this will not happen. Its cites some website http://www.scramm.org.uk. Guess this would have an effect on Fowlmere…which was the wartime field of the 339th FG 8th USAAF. So I take it this would cause the shut down of Fowlmere. Can those in Cambridge clear this up and if this has already been posted on the board …then my bad! I hope no one was planning to alter what Duxford is and has become.
Thanks !

Thanks Mike J, guess by the time the news reached here it was over, a historical footnote the editor of the 339th associations newsletter Stephen Ananian flew a P-51 called “Baby Mine” and shot down on ME-262 and damaged another in combat. How many newspaper editors can say they took down an ME-262 in combat? I would think
that Duxford is protected as a national trust or something like that as part of the Imperial War Museum. Great to hear this lame deal won’t happen !
Thanks!
