Oscar Duck’s father-in-law’s [815th BS 483rd BG (H)] B-17F “Chief Wahoo” 42-5418 was shot down on April 30 1944 two days after he was WIA on 28 April 1944 in Italy.I have tracked down that the Chief was shot down by Uffz. Eberhard Lang of 3 2./JG77. Any ideas who this guy was or where he ended up or anything about his unit?
