Any historic aircraft museums in/near Barcelona?

I’m off to Barcelona for a few days and wondered if anyone knows whether the ‘Fundació Parc Aeronautic de Catalunya’ at Sabadell Airport is open and worth a visit?

This was the only Google I got for historic aircraft museums in the area. Does anyone know of any others?

Cheers,

DS

There are also a pair of KC-97’s at a disco in the area, if big props are your thang…

They are at a place called Saint Cugat.

I believe that they are painted purple and pink… 😮

Not an aircraft museum, but if you haven’t been to the Montjuic Military Museum it’s well worth a visit. It’s in an old fort on top of the Montjuic hill which overlooks the city and the port. You can travel up via funicular and cable car and the view from the top is fantastic. And once you’re in the central courtyard you can sit in the open among the artillery pieces and enjoy a cold beer from the cafe. Magic.

Thanks- I’ll try to fit that in as well!

“PM” ed you, further contact via email. Enclosed the PAC’s T34 and a view of the field out of their DO-27. Shot them both in October. The railroad is the one you can best take to the field.BW Roger

On Sunday, the PAC has a member meeting. I’ll try to ask them if they can give you a tour around the hangars. Can’t garantee anything however. Give me some days. BW Roger

Depends on when you are going, are you there during a weekend, or even better, give me the dates. Maybe I can give you some details then. The PAC is well worth a visit, they have some 20+ aircraft, with a Super Saeta (and a non flying Phantom) being the largest. However, it is situated within the airfield security aerea, so that’s a problem. On certain days during the month it is open however. BW Roger

Thanks for that.

I arrive the morning of Saturday 5th March and will be free that afternoon and most of Sunday/Monday and going home on Tuesday.
