FW-190 question.

Okay this is probably going to sound dumb,
but why is the FW-190 called the “Butcher-Bird” ?

Yes it was quiet a handful for the Allied force’s at time’s :rolleyes:

, But yes from what I have read Kurt named it after the Bird 😉

I also just found out that Mr Tank himself gave it the name.
“Wuerger” (Butcher Bird / Shrike)

Basically because it hacked down bombers left and right, B-17’s and B-24’s, it was a Butcher!
