Indian vintage aircraft

Hi guys,
I read about an Me-109 found in India 😎 which was sold off to a British enthusiast. Does anyone know its present fate? Has it been rebuilt and restored to flying condition? The last I know of it was in bits and pieces but there was a possibility that it could be rebuilt.

Thanks for the links on the Indian Me-109

Thanks for the links on the ME-109 found in Gulbarga in India. I read it fully. It seems sad to see that a rare bird has literally “flown” to God-knows-where. Where is it now? I read somewhere that it has been sent abroad for restoration. Will it come back? Questions for which there seem to be no answers. I also read in a book about Japanese Zeros which were shot down in Indian territory near Assam during the war. What about their fate? Anyone knows??? I was also informed about Liberator Graveyards from which IAF salvaged many Libs and used them for the IAF as a bomber during the years following independence. Except for one Lib. which is in the IAF museum in New Delhi and some which were given to US and Canada I do not know the fate of the others. Any news on them?

You mean this one? http://www.warbirdsofindia.com/WDY/wbdy2002.html
It seems that a pitance was paid for it http://www.warbirdsofindia.com/WDY/wbme109hunt.html

When it does turn up it looks as though there might be more than a few solicitors banging on the hanger doors demanding its return. – Nermal

Hi Vimanam,

The person to ask is Jagan you can find him over on the Mordern Air Forces Forum he has a web site dedicate to Historical Indian Aircraft and did an article on the 109.

Cheers
