What's it worth??

Looking at some of the photo’s on some of the Scrapyard threads made me wonder what those items would be worth if found today? For an example, I assume the people looking for wrecks in the old USSR know they will be able to sell them on either as future projects or completed projects. The maximum value of the wreck would be determined by the future sale value less the cost of recovery & restoration I presume?? So does the price of say the P51 or the F86 on the Courtesy Aircraft website reflect the cost of it’s recovery and restoration or it’s historical value to a potential buyer?

The other point to consider is the one which always applies with collectables-it’s only worth what a collector is willing to pay.

It’s irrelevant what it’s worth – the owner must have a price in mind and it comes down to whether you want to pay it or not. There is little point in posting pictures unless you want to start a ‘gold rush’. My advice -buy first and talk about it later!

Thanks for the input David 😀
