Tornados on display

Does anyone have a list and/or pictures of retired Tornado GR.1/F3s that are in museums or as gate guards?

Any help would be appreciated!

THANKS!!

It is one and the same, there is only one Tornado in Bicester, as Damien says outside the DLO facility at Arncott. The devil only knows why it is there.

Yep, Arncott, knew it was one of those villages.

ZA254 was last noted at Coningsby
ZA267 is at Marham

Neither is preserved.

Time for someone to act?

Hello All,

Leuchars also has an F.3 on the gate as well, I think its ZE967.

Benyboy, It was a prototype in that photo, its either ZA254 or ZA267, as the third was painted grey, and has been scrapped.

ZA254 was in use as a GIA at Coningsby, don’t know if its still there or not. While ZA267 is at Marham and is used for the same purpose.

On the subject of F.2s there is ZD899 at Boscombe Down, which was airworthy at Warton till last year, It might be a spares ship for the TIARA F.2 ZD902 (this being the only survivor of all the RAF F.2s).

If I remember correctly, TIARA means Tornado Integrated Avionics Research Airframe.

Cheers

Hmmm, there is definitely one in one of the “military villages” on the edge of Otmoor – seems odd to have two together so maybe I’m just passing the same place but in a different direction. It can’t be more than a mile or so off the new Bicester bypass.

ZA319 Gate guard, Bicester

Is that the depot at Arncott/Murcott? Battle damage repair school, or some such? South east of Bicester, up some fairly minor roads?
