Visit To BBMF Hangar

We have been given the go ahead by the Boss to arrange a tour of the BBMF hangar for forum users for an evening in March/April. Previous visits to the other historic aircraft operators seem to have been very popular, however we think that we would have to limit numbers to the first 25 replies we receive. We will have to put a charge of £15 per head, but for this you will be able to get v.good photo opportunities and access to our aircraft subject to serviceability.
So if the first 25 interested can e-mail us with their bids to visit us here at BBMF we can get down to arranging a day and hope that the visit will maybe become a regular item.

That’s funny, I don’t remember reading about there being a cabaret….

OK, all together now, in your best 1930’s Berlin accent: ” Money makes my props go round, my props go round, my props go round…..”

I’ll get my coat.

A thought, is there a fee to attend the ground runs at EK on the 23rd? If so, how much?

Thanks.

Anywhere else in the local vicinity worth a quick look?
DS

unfortunately Metheringham visitors centre doesnt open till Easter weekend, otherwise you could’ve made a dash over there.. I should think though by the time you’ve watched the taxi-run, wandered round EK and maybe Woodhall it’ll be almost time for the BBMF lot to entertain you.. 😀

Yes, can you please pay when you arrive (£15),so if you find you can’t make it then you haven’t lost out. All money raised will go into the aircraft restorations/restocking T-bar oops!!!!

We will be asked to pay an amount to cover what must be some understandable costs of putting on the event after the normal closing time.
The amount was mentioned in the original email we all received. I think it is well worth it!

Don’t forget your ticket!!

DS

It’s also printed on the front of the ticket, a small price to pay for an opportunity of a lifetime. Mine arrived at the weekend, thanks very much chaps, really looking forward to this. 🙂

A cup of tea at the Petwood Hotel could be a good idea? nothing much of the airfield to see, some of the accomadation site is preserved at Thorpe Camp but doent open till after easter, and theres the 617 Sqn Memorial in Woodhall too.. Neil

Can I have some clarification please? On another thread, a comment was made about paying on the door. Is this the case on Wednesday? Not sure of the protocols here and just need confimation.

Would it be worth popping over to Woodhall Spa between EK closing and opening time at Conningsby? It doesn’t sound like there is much of the airfield left, but what about buildings/memorials etc? Anyone have any more info or photos.

Cheers

Surprise surprise, my ticket arrived too — thanks. Along with a ton and a half of sand and 6 bags of cement. There’s another house that has almost the same address as mine … they got the wrong one 🙂
