even more amateur pics from downunder

We’ve seen lots of piccies from “that wee airshow downunder” or Wings over Wairarapa as it was properly called, anyone mind a few more?

Please excuse the image quality … I am a rank amateur at this stuff, and the equipment your basic holiday snapper.

Anyone want me to post aircraft, owner and pilot IDs … or is that redundant around these parts?

Is this the sound an Aussie helicopter makes? 😀

Wairarapa, not Wanaka 😎 !

Come on, say it out loud so you remember: “Wairarapa, Wairarapa, Wairarapa”. OK, now say it out loud again, but fast this time :diablo: !

Thanks everyone

Mark, they’re significantly reduced images (down to 1024 pixels wide in all cases) from originals 3x larger. The grain has come from mix of camera (Nikon F75, lens a 28-100 zoom and film = 200ASA). Aside from the cameraman, the film was the faux pas as it was a scorchingly sunny day. And they don’t seem as grainy on the originals, don’t know whether reducing and cropping and uploading to photobucket has done something (first time I’ve ever done that).

I also have to say I like the 3 jet formation too. That was a very quick snap taken at long distance late in the afternoon sun. That shot not reduced but cropped. I have some nice shots of the WWI replicas but don’t seem to be able to get (most of) them under about 2mb. I assume it’s all the colours/stripes which means busy = file size?

I’d follow the first photo ANYWHERE….

Something about these pics I like, they have GRAIN which gives them texture and character, like looking at a handful of 8×10 enlargements…don’t know if it’s because of the enlarged image vs. the original scan size or if you used a grainier film (400?), but they look great….a great batch of shots.
