Pobjoy

In researching the Comper Swift and the Pobjoy engine I am trying to help a friend round up some drawings of the Pobjoy engine. My leads up to this point have come up with some technical manuals. From what I understand Pobjoy sold out to Shorts Aircraft that is now a part of Bombardier. My Bombardier/Shorts contacts have checked the archives and have not found any drawings.

So… if anyone can help with technical drawings please drop me a note at…

I believe Pobjoy originally operated at Hooton Park – again a long shot perhaps, but why not ask the Hooton Park Trust if they have any drawings or related archive material? Try http://www.hootonparktrust.co.uk/contacts.htm.

Pobjoy

An aircraft on my strip – a BA Swallow – has a Pobjoy Niagara.

Shuttleworth do indeed have a Pobjoy on the front of their Comper and thus have a great deal of expertise and a fair selection of bits.

PM me if you get stuck and I’ll see what I can find out next time I’m there.

Is this support for a rebuild project?

Dan,
Bit of a long shot, but the RAF Museum in London has a vast archieve of manuals etc for equipement used by the RAF. They might be able to help.

Also the Shuttleworth collection in the UK operate a Comper Swift which has one fitted. They may be able to help.
