Walney Air Show 2005

‘WALNEY AIR SHOW 2005’
Walney Airfield,
Barrow-in-Furness,
Cumbria

We are making good progress with plans for the Air Show on the 16th July 2005.

The list of participating aircraft is growing everyday. We are delighted with the interest that this first full size airshow to be held at Walney Airfield has created in aviation circles.

We may not offer the Heavy Metal that RIAT can but we have a line up of aircraft that hopefully will interest everyone.

We have the Grace Spitfire, The Utterly Butterly WIngwalkers, The BBMF, Catalina, Avro Anson etc… The full list can be found on our Website http://www.walneyairshow.co.uk
Ample parking will be provided off the airfield with a nominal fee of £5.00. Entry to Air Show will be free.

From Gates open till mid day there will RC flying from the Large Model Association with aircraft like 1/2 scale Spitfire and Catalina etc.
Then from 12-4 a full 4 hr flying display.

All the usual airshow ground attractions will be there as well as some local ones.

Look out for our 1/2 page spread in the ‘FlyPast Airshow’ magazine due out soon.

If you require any further info email info@walneyairshow.co.uk

Hope to see you there…..We cannot do this without your support.

Potentially an excellent show – just a shame they picked RIAT weekend for it 🙁

Nighthawk – times of the tour (& costs!! – joking) will be forward to you nearer the date.

I gather the organisers are still to finalise a few more private display items as well as trying to get decisions made on what/any RAF/USAF participation, at the moment its potentially looking like quite a show. Its great to see people in the North West putting time & effort into putting on a show as we have so few up here these days.

Nighthawk

Thanks the one, thanks! I do believe that VintageATCO of this board used to provide ATC for it.

Very ambitious flying programme – especially some of the modern USAF stuff. How likely do you think it is that they’ll agree?

Probably the same way a small village fete in Suffolk(?) used to get flypasts by everything from an F-4 to a B-52, (all controlled by air traffic from the village hall roof) a lot of front!! If you dont ask you dont get 😉

Good luck with the airshow chaps
